Integration EU One Health framework and policies in Ukraine
The effective implementation of the One Health concept requires a systemic approach throughout sectors and disciplines. The new EU Strategy aims strengthen collaboration and promote interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral activities, including One Health education for veterinary students. The three-year project in the framework of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module “Integration EU One Health framework and policies in Ukraine” (EU4OH, co-funded by the European Union) was launched in February 2022 by the interdisciplinary team of experts from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and Statens Serum Institut, Denmark.
Project implementation involves:
- Developing training opportunities with a special emphasis on One Health for educational integration, including teaching, research activities and popularization.
- Creation of a multidisciplinary network with foreign institutions to foster collaborations in the field of One health and research.
- Promotion of awareness of One Health challenges that Ukraine is facing, such as foodborne and zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, food safety and security, etc.
- Involvement of European and international experts, as well as the use of EAEVE recommendations for the development of courses and materials.
